As my kids have graduated from the larger building blocks to smaller Legos we have been left with excess blocks taking up a lot of room. A great way I've found to to reuse our old Megabloks and Duplo blocks is by repurposing them as sight word blocks. I looked up the list of Dolch Pre-Primer Sight Words and was able to label enough blocks with letters to practice almost all the Dolch pre-primer words. If I had more 2-4 piece longer block we would have enough to practice all the pp words. You have the option of writing the letters and words on return address labels to stick to the blocks, or write directly on the blocks with a sharpie. We chose to write directly on the blocks because we have a little one in the family who loves to pull off stickers. Plus, the best part about writing directly on the blocks with a sharpie is that if you make a mistake or want to use them for something else, all you have to do is rub the dried permanent marker lettering with a dry erase marker and the permant market print will erase. The permanent marker will eventually doc off on its own, but it's easily reapplied. I even used black blocks and wrote letters with a white chalk marker. In order to build as many sight words possible, I labeled the fronts and backs of the blocks. Later on after your kids (or students) get the concept of sight words you can add worksheets and other games into the mix with the blocks.
I also wrote out my children's names and some other phonics words on the longer blocks to help develop sentence structure down the road. The blocks also store perfectly in our repurposed animal cracker container! If you don't have any old blocks laying around, the Target Dollar Spot often has a $3 bag of larger building blocks that would work.

As my kids are rapidly approaching the developmental stage of learning more in depth about the structures of words and forming sentences, I begin to wonder what's the best way to teach them to read... Phonics or Sight Words? You will find proponents for each, and of course the best method will ultimately depend on your child's way of learning.
Over the next week I will feature various options, tips and resources for teaching phonics and sight words.
This two-pack of faucet extenders work great for average faucets. We have one bathroom with an average faucet and one with upgraded cane-shaped neck and this extender works best with the average faucet. It provides a great extension of water for my young kids to wash their hands without having to strain. In the past they would hang or climb on the counter because they couldn't reach the running water.
This extender also fits on our bathtub faucet to extend the water stream during bath time hair washing and my kids even use it as a water slide for their toys during bath time. These #FitnessAnsweredTrainingBands are top quality. The lightest band (green/light) feels like a latex ballon & the heaviest (black/x-heavy) feels like a bike tire tube.
Resistance Levels: • Green = Light (Likely Beginner Level) • Blue = Medium (Average Fitness Level) • Red = Heavy (Average Fitness Level) • Black = X-Heavy (Athlete Fitness Level) Mostly I use the blue (medium) band, but I do vary between the other resistances depending on the workout and the current mobility of the specific body part I'm working. No matter what resistance I use, I slowly perform each motion with the band to ensure I'm fully working each muscle properly. Regardless of the resistance level, each of the loops in this four-piece set offer excellent resistance. The green "light" band is very thin and five-year-old son uses it to stretch his legs since he struggles with "W" sitting. By using it to get a straight stretch, it helps stretch out his leg muscles. It's easy enough for him perform stretches on his own (with my supervision). Based on my quality reviews, I did receive this product to try in exchange for my unbiased and honest review. My interest in this US Art & Office Supply Jumbo Easel was to use in my classroom for anchor charts and other lessons. The telescoping legs were the selling point for me because they allow me to fully extend it to 66" during lessons, or to lower when a student is working at it. Having limited storage space, it's especially convenient that it collapses down for storage when not in use.
For my purposes, this has been a great easel. Based on my quality reviews, I did receive this product to try in exchange for my unbiased and honest review. This is a great GoPro accessory kit that comes in a durable case with inner organizational compartments. I like that the compartments aren't sized for any specific accessory so I can place my most often used pieces in best reach.
The accessories in the kit include: * Suction mount * Wrist mount * Flat adhesive mounts (2) * Curved adhesive mounts (2) * Head Strap * Chest Harness * Selfie stick * Flat Quickclip * Vertical Quickclip * Camera tether * 8GB MircoSD Card * Floating Grip * Flexible tabletop tripod * Bicycle mount * Side mount * Locking plug * Wrench * Anti-Fog inserts (12) If you received a GoPro over Christmas (or anytime!), then this is a really good starter kit to see which accessories you prefer to use most. Down the road, if you find yourself using a particular accessory most often then you'll know it's worth investing more into said accessory. A lot of these accessories are also interchangable and adjustable allowing you to create a mount at virtually any angle you desire. I used a large zucchini in it and the wider of the blades make perfectly sized julienne strips for my zucchini noodles (aka zoodles). See my video review for more details! I wear a size 9 shoe and these fit me good, but I could probably still go down a size. They also fit my husband with a size 13 foot. They have pilled/fuzzed a bit since washing, but most socks do. Overall, they are great socks and I highly recommend them! Based on my quality reviews, I did receive this product to try in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.
