If you're looking for a fun doll with accessories, then I highly recommend any of the dolls from Dolls to Play. This Brunette doll with hair accessories, is an adorable doll for little kids. She is smaller than American Girl type-dolls, measuring in at 12" (versus 18"), but the size is ideal for younger kids or it could also make a great little sister to an American Girl Doll! What's Included: Doll: Curly brunette hair with articulating head, arms, and legs. Her face and arms are soft (squeezable) plastic and her body and legs are a harder plastic. Her headband, socks, shoes, undies, shirt & dress are removable. Her eyes are a marbelized brown, really pretty. She has no eye lashes, drawn-on eyebrows, and lightly painted pink lips. Accessories: Brush, hairdryer (a light "whirring" noise happens when you push down on the handle), hair ties (in a plastic blue container), pony beads (in a plastic purple container), four flower hair clips, two butterfly clips, and two colored hair extensions (blue & pink). Pros: I'm extremely impressed by the details on the doll. Her hair is thick and high quality, she has detailed toes under her removable socks & shoes, a belly button, detailed nails on her fingers, detailed little nose, puckered lips & chin, gorgeous eyes, and the dress and shirt are a cute set. Even her she is are highly detailed--plus are easy to put on and off. The accessories are fun and easily attach to the doll's hair. The hair ties and pony beads will be harder for young kids to use, but the clips and hair extension are easy to put on. The hair dryer is fun because when they squeeze the handle (like a squirt gun) it makes a whirring sound. Great for their imagination and fine motor development! Cons: Because of all the other details, I wish they would have given her eyelashes
Overall: I think this is a great doll set that any child would love to receive! I emphasize the details so much because as a preschool teacher I have observed how important these details are to kids and how they identify the dolls with themselves. They are thrilled to see toenails & fingernails, belly buttons, etc. Based on my quality reviews, I did receive this product to try in exchange for my unbiased and honest review. Once again, #ThinkFun has created a game that kids enjoy while secretly learning important educational skills. Balance Beans a single-player game that introduces young learners to elementary algebra, physics, and logic in a fun, hands-on format.
First, assemble the see-saw by placing the balance tray on the base. The balance tray contains 7 rows of 3 raised circles that fit into the feet of the beans.
Next, choose one of 40 challenge cards ranging from easy to difficult. The front of the card indicates where to place particular 'stationary' red beans on the balance tray. From there, player(s) attempt to strategically place indicated 'moveable' orange, yellow & blue beans on the tray without it teetering. What players don't realize is that when they balance the seesaw, they are actually balancing an equation! If the challenge is too difficult, the solution is on back--although some challenges will have multiple solutions. Through continual play and as the challenge cards get harder, players begin to rely less on trial and error and more on math and reasoning skills. The game can be enjoyed by one player or multiple players that want to work together on the solution.
The ages for this game are listed for 5 and up, however children do not have to understand the math behind the game to play. Through simple hands-on experimentation, young players discover how beans placed farther from the center of the balance tray will lower the board more than an equal number of beans placed closer to the center. My 4 and 5 year old sons quickly grasped the concept and eagerly progressed through the challenge cards. Sometimes they opt to create and solving their own puzzles. The first level of puzzle cards can easily be completed through play and experimentation.
Being a Pre-K educator I'm excited to introduce this game into our independent STEM center and see my students strategize the bean placement and problem solve. As for the contents, the pieces are well made and will stand up to a lot of use. The beans all have cute expressions printed on their 'faces'. The cards are pliable, but laminated with a thin material to protect from minimal spills. I will likely laminate them with a thicker sheet for durability and attach them to a binder clip to avoid losing cards since I will use this game in class. The game comes with a mesh bag to store the balance tray, base, beans, cards, and instructions.
Overall, Balance Beans is a great game to introduce a little math into your child's playtime!
