Not only is this mug a funny gift for parents, buts it's also very high quality--not just another cheap novelty item. Best part is that the lettering is printed on both sides of the mug! As your parent drinks from the mug not only will they be reminded that you're their favorite child, so will anyone sitting across from them!! If your siblings are competitive, this mug is sure to be a hit when you all gather together. The mug itself is large (13oz) and the glass is very thick. Its also both microwave and dishwasher safe. It comes packed in a very thick cardboard box and wrapped inside, so you can be confident it will arrive in pristine condition. We have been experiencing cabin fever pretty bad lately and since today's weather was rather frigid, we decided surprise our kids with a visit to a nearby indoor playground at Mahoney State Park in Ashland. Four hours of play later, we knew this place made it to the top of our must-visit fun zones around town. This gigantic indoor climber features multiple levels including tubes, slides (including a tornado slide), net bridges, ball pits, a maze, and much more. You can even walk inside to the middle of the playground to see all the areas to explore. Adults are welcome to play with their children inside the structure as well. Like with most indoor climbers shoes are not allowed and socks are required. Admission is $2 for anyone over 2-years-old, plus the fee to enter the state park ($5 daily pass). It was very busy when we visited and I was very impressed at how well all the kids playing treated each other. It, of course, can get very loud inside the building but that's to be expected when tons of children are having a blast. The highlights of the climber for my kids were "hilly purple slide" (as my five-year-old put it), the yellow tornado slide, and the ball pit (my four-year-old's favorite). Food & Drink Outside food and drinks are not allowed to be brought inside, but they do have a very affordable concession stand offering everything from Valentinos pizza to pretzels, hot dogs, nachos, coffee, cappuccinos, slushies, and ice cream bars, and much more. Birthday Parties & Event Rentals There are also several areas you can rent for birthday parties or other events. There is an area on the main floor, several upstairs in the balcony overlooking the playground, and also a private room right outside the entrance to the playground. Location The climber is located inside the Indoor Activity Center, which is connected to the ice rink. You got straight after entering the park, and it's the building right after the driving range. Cost Adults: $2 | Kids: $2 | Under 2: Free ** plus park entrance pass (daily pass is $5$ Winter Hours September-May, the climber is open: Monday, Thursday & Friday: 4pm-8pm Saturday: 11am-8pm Sunday: 11am-6pm Tuesday & Wednesday: Closed Summer Hours June-August, the climber is open: Monday; 4pm-8pm Thursday; 11am-8pm Friday: 4pm-8pm Saturday; 11am-8pm Sunday: 11am-6pm Tuesday & Wednesday: Closed Other Details: • No outside food and drinks permitted. • The concession stand is affordable and has lots of options. • No shoes allowed in climber. • Socks are required & can be purchased at the activity center front desk. • Seating is available at tables & chairs surround the entire climber. • Cubbies are available to store shoes • Lockers are also available • Bathrooms are right past the front desk and the women's restroom includes a diaper changing center. • There are a few touch-free sanitizer dispensers around the activity center. Our family loves ThinkFun games and were so thrilled to try out their new Yoga Spinner® Game, a fun introduction to yoga that promotes flexibility, balance, teamwork and healthy physical activity. My kids struggle with the dreaded W sitting and so I'm always on the lookout for activities and games that encourage them to stretch out, this game completely fits the bill!
The game is designed for ages 5+. Kids give the spinner a whirl and perform the pose on one the 54 corresponding Yoga Pose Card. They'll need a little luck and teamwork, and a bit more flexibility and balance to win this entertaining yoga game.
Getting Started
• Have your kids put on comfy clothes that allow stretch. • Find a surface where your kids won't slip, and/or use a yoga mat if available • perform some warm-up stretches Warm-Up Yoga Stretches Via ThinkFun.com/YogaGames
Game Set-Up
One of my favorite features of this game is all the cards and instructions are stored inside the spinner! Press the bottom half of the spinner by the closure hooks to open the spinner and access the cards. Remove the cards and keep the instructions nearby for reference.
Steps to Play
1) Divide the cards according to color and place each of the decks face down.
2. The youngest player spins the Spinner and follows instructions according to the Spinner Guide (see additional spinner guide details below).
To collect a card, a player must perform the yoga pose illustrated on the selected card for 10 seconds. Otherwise, the card is returned to the bottom of its corresponding deck. (For the Partner Up card, perform for the times listed on each card).
3. The game continues with the next player to the left.
4. If you’re the first player to collect a card in all four colors – YOU WIN!
Spinner Guide:
Color Match: Take a card from the deck matching the color the Spinner landed on. Steal a Card: Select any card from the player on your right (if that player hasn’t collected any cards, a card is taken from the next player; if no one has any cards, one is taken from any deck). Partner Up: Take a card from the white deck. All players form pairs to perform the indicated exercise simultaneously. If there is an uneven number of players, one player may need to perform the pose twice so everyone has a chance to participate. Opponents’ Choice: Your opponents work together to select which color deck you need to take a card from. They can choose the green, red, or blue decks. Lose a Card: Your opponents work together to select one of your collected cards and return it to the bottom of its corresponding deck. If you haven’t collected any cards, no action is needed. Player’s Choice: Take a card from the green, red, or blue decks.
Our Experience
My kids loved the game. Most of the cards are challenging, but I like that because it encourages them to try their hardest to achieve the pose--this continually stretching and increasing their flexibility and balance. The results from teamwork cards create a lot of giggles! This will definitely be in our weekly rotation of games. I like the idea of it being an evening game to get all the wiggles out before bedtime. I highly recommend this game
About the Inventors
This game was invented by Upside Down Games. Their story is one based in yoga destiny. It all began when two Argentinians – Matt, a yoga-loving lawyer specializing in non-profit work, and Juan, a yoga instructor – met in a yoga class. They shared not only their passion for yoga, but also their desire to spread the joys and benefits of yoga to children, creating a new generation of ‘yogis.’ After much brainstorming and testing, their vision became a reality, with a full line of award-winning Upside Down Games! Review for: #UpNatureEucalyptus Essential Oil
This love this eucalyptus essential oil! It is such a a high quality, therapeutic grade oil. The fragrance is relaxing, the effects are soothing, and I couldn't be happier! I like to apply a few drops onto Epsom salts and let them absorb the eucalyptus oil prior to running them in a hot bath. This is my favorite way to enjoy it. I hope to get an essential oil diffuser soon and this will definitely be on my the top oils used in it.
