Review: Majestic Bombay - Professional Stainless Steel Cuticle Pusher and Nail Cleaner Tool11/24/2015
I have long, curved fingernails which I'm complimented on, but what most people don't understand is how frail they are and how much work they take to keep healthy. And I'm not talking about getting pampered manicures at a salon, or nail polish & nail art. I mean keeping my nails clean, moisturized, and my cuticles pushed back.
The Bombay cuticle pusher & cleaner is a high quality, professional grade tool that is a staple in my nail care routine. The edges of the pusher are are buffed smooth to prevent scratching the nail, but still strong enough to effectively push back the cuticles. It also has a textured body that provides a secure grip. The cleaning end is scoop-shaped, which really helps clean out under your nails (against the skin) and also scrape clean the inside top of your nails. Previously I used a pointed nail file to clean my nails, but this scoop really makes my nails a brighter white. People often debate whether or not pushing back cuticles is necessary.... To me, it it's very important. Taking care of your cuticles leads to stronger, healthier nails--if done properly. A great shaped cuticle also compliments healthy nails, but also makes the nail bed appear longer, and adds to an overall polished look. It's important to understand cuticles when it comes to manicuring nails & pushing back your cuticles. Technically, you have two cuticles. The eponychium is the primary cuticle that begins at your skin, protects your nail from damage, and creates a watertight seal over the keratin protein that eventually becomes our nails. The pterygium is the cuticle that grows up your nail and it's the cuticle you want to push back. Prior to pushing back the cuticles, make sure you have softened them in warm water or with a moisturizer (I prefer coconut oil). If you do not moisturize, you risk breaking the skin (the eponychium), which leads to damage, weakness, and infections. If you want to improve the health, strength & appearance of your nails, then I highly recommend Bombay's cuticle pusher & nail cleaner tool.
