Adequate Omega-3 consumption has always been very important to my diet. I have a family history of cancer, depression, cardiovascular diseases, ADHD, Alzheimer’s, plus arthritis and Omega-3s have been shown to benefit all of these diseases (and more), so I wanted to find the right supplement for me. I wanted a supplement that provided a full daily dosage, were easy to swallow, didn’t have a bad taste, or resulted in unpleasant after-effects.
Farmers Choice Omega-3 Fish Oil definitely checked off all the “wants” on my list. It exceeds the daily recommendation dosages of DHA and EPA (2 pills 3x day), which provides the best blend of omega-3s. After a month’s use I have noticed my joints are a lot less sore and my skin looks great—wrinkles have reduced and breakouts have ceased. Farmers Choice Omega-3 Fish Oil is made in the USA at a GMP certified facility. The soft gels are gluten free & GMO free. The extra-strength formula helps with digestion and prevents fish-burps. They are also highly purified and the heavy metals are tested to ensure nothing but the best quality fish oil. We often hear about the health benefits of fish oil, but not all fish oils have the same benefits and effects. Higher EPA plus DHA concentrations will necessarily provide greater benefits. But the key to tailoring a fish oil supplement to your needs is checking your supplement’s ratio of EPA to DHA, and deciding which health benefits you’re after. EPA and DHA have been shown to provide a wide variety of clinical benefits. Choosing a fish oil supplement richer in one of the two primary omega-3 types may help tailor its medicinal properties to your needs. Omega-3s reduce triglycerides, stabilize your heartbeat, make platelets "less sticky" and can even lower blood pressure. The EPA you get with your daily DHA dose helps prevent artery-blocking clots. In the Iowa Nurses Study (and 3 others), 1 ounce of nuts a day decreased the incidence of heart disease between 20 and 60 percent. • Attacks Acne: It may surprise you to know that an inadequate intake of omega-3 fatty acids contributes to breakout-prone skin. Trade sugar (and meat) for avocados, walnuts, salmon or trout to help control acne. • Clears Cholesterol: Boosts levels of HDL (the good cholesterol) and helps clear your arteries. • Boosts the Brain: In keeping your arteries clear, you're immediately improving brain function. After turning 30, my skin has been prone to bumpy breakouts and oily skin. After using the MY Konjac sponge, my skin is much more toned than before and my complexion has evened out. I unfortunately inherited the "large pores" gene in my family and after using this sponge for a few weeks, it has helped to reduce the visibility of my pores. After washing my face, my skin feels extremely smooth and clean.
At first, I was skeptical about how deep it exfoliates because once the sponge is wet, it's so fluffy and soft--it doesn't seem like it would be good at exfoliating. But don't let the fluffy exterior fool you. If you consistently use this sponge with regular washings, you will see a difference in a few weeks. I have used the sponge in various ways. For daily cleaning, I saturate the sponge in warm water and gently squeeze to remove excess water. Then I apply my cleanser directly on the sponge; it produces a significant lather as it exfoliates. For a deep clean, I will do the same as above but use an exfoliating cream or wash. And for an even deeper extra-clean, I barely saturate the sponge so it's a little stiff and focus on my pores in a circular motion. To dry it out, I rinse out the sponge after use, squeezing gently to remove all the water and hang it to dry. The sponge has held up very well. I can see it lasting for several months. I would recommend being gentle with the sponge and avoid "wringing" it to dry. After the sponge has dried, it will shrink smaller than it came in the original package, but that's to be expected. With proper care, MY Konjac Bamboo Charcoal sponge will surely be a staple in your beauty routine for months to come. One final note: An added benefit to this sponge is that it's an additive-free, cruelty-free vegan product that is recyclable and can even be composted after use!
